Additional Notes:
Age restriction: All ages are welcome on board. Children 2 years old and under travel for free.
Weather and safety concerns: In case of inclement weather and if partner is unable to serve you, a full refund will be processed. Captains also reserve the right to change/modify the route without notice, due to any weather or other safety concerns.
Insurance recommendation: Partner highly recommend that you have travel insurance to protect you against unforeseen circumstances such as airline delays, cancellations, medical emergencies, injuries or illness.
BVI & USVI port hours of operation: Due to the BVI & USVI port hours of operation, partner recommend booking a flight into that St. Thomas that lands no later than 4:00PM. (The earlier the better!) Similarly, your flight departure time out of St. Thomas should be no earlier than 1:30PM. The BVI ports do not open until 8:30AM (sometimes later), and partner like to adhere to a pick up time that is 5 hours prior to your flight departing in St. Thomas to ensure ample time to clear ports and account for any unforeseen circumstances, such as power outages at the ports, government systems being down, traffic jams enroute to the airport in St. Thomas etc!
The points of customs clearance and immigration: Captain will decide which is the best BVI Port to clear you in and out at, depending on your drop off/pick up location and also what time it is! Typically, partner will collect you in St. Thomas, and take you the first port of entry in the BVI located at West End, Soper's Hole. While you chill out on board, the team will handle your clearances and once your group is approved entry, you will then continue to your final destination.
For your return to St. Thomas, partner will clear out of the BVI Port and head over to Cruz Bay, St. John located in the US Virgin Islands and clear in. At this location, you will need to disembark the vessel and speak with the customs officers who will process your entry.
Additionally, you’ll be required to take your luggage through the security scanner before we reboard the vessel, and continue to American Yacht Harbour, Red Hook, Charlotte Amalie
Late arrivals and clearances: Late arrivals can become tricky due to the port hours of operation. If partner miss the first Port of Entry (at West End, Sopers Hole), he will then have to reroute to another port; such as Road Town.
West End currently works Monday - Thursday - 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM & Friday - Sunday: 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Road Town currently closes at 8:00 PM - but if partner have to apply for a late clearance or reroute (which can only be decided on the day of travel), there may be an additional fee of $40.00 per person. Late clearances are not always guaranteed and if your flight is severely delayed, you may need to consider overnighting in St. Thomas, and being brought over the following day, based on our availability. However, partner will do our best to accommodate you and get you over to the BVI the same day.
Duration of Clear in and out of BVI & USVI customs and immigration: It usually takes 25-35 minutes, depending on foot traffic & the amount of people in your group.
Duration of water taxi drive: Approximately water taxi drive from American Yacht Harbour, Red Hook, St Thomas USVI to Soper’s Hole, West End, Tortola, BVIs is about 20-25 minutes. West End, Tortola, BVIs to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, Virgin Gorda, BVIs is about 40 minutes.
Bringing food and drinks: When travelling to the BVI or USVI, you can bring food & alcohol, but it must be declared to our Captain and at customs. Certain items may be subject to restrictions or duties. Always check with local government offices or official websites for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Smoking: Smoking is NOT allowed on, or near, any of partners vessels as there is a 300 gallon fuel tank on each boat
