Apres Ski in Verbier

Of course, skiing also means "après ski" to most people, and Verbier, Switzerland has a nice array of options. A small village, easily enjoyed entirely on foot, there are après ski spots in town but also on the mountain and beyond.

When enjoying the many pleasures of Verbier village, you will want to familiarize yourself with the "Place Centrale" at the heart of the village in order to discover the most appealing spots. Don't overlook the fact that many winter months are also a time of festival celebrations, and you may not have to look any farther than the central square to enjoy different après ski events and celebrations.

In the village of Verbier itself there are several popular stops for cocktails and livelier evenings. Currently, Le Rouge is a top destination for cocktails on the terrace and Farinet Après-Ski Bar is known for its live bands and even livelier atmosphere. Other top spots include Offshore, Pub Mont Fort, and Farm Club. It is Pub Mont Fort where (it is rumored) travelers can find the largest variety of beer options throughout all of Switzerland, and Offshore is noted for its impressive breakfasts and delicious sandwiches. However, it is also famous for a "California" vibe, and if you are hoping to experience the more authentic, Verbier/ski local culture it is best to stick with Le Rouge or Farinet.

On the slopes, the famous Les Ruinettes is considered a top choice, though Le Mouton Noir and Ice Cube Bar are also extremely popular. New and exciting is Bar 1938, which is near the bottom of the Mayentzet lift and is made up of a few "yurts" and loungers, an array of wood stoves and fireplaces, and a huge amount of atmosphere.

If you are interested in the classic club experience the Etoile Rouge Supper Club offers dinner and dancing, the Farm Club also offers a dinner and dance option, and is famous for its appeal to older European rock stars. So, whatever setting, crowd, and experience you hope to enjoy with your après ski hours, it is easily found and readily available!
