Your day begins in Saint Rémy de Provence. Enjoy free time to explore the town, and if it’s a Wednesday, visit the vibrant open-air market. Your guide will stop for photos at the Roman monuments and Van Gogh’s hospital, where he stayed from 1889 to 1890. Optionally, visit Saint-Paul de Mausole to see a recreation of Van Gogh’s bedroom (ticket not included).
After leaving Saint Rémy de Provence, continue to the remarkable village of Les Baux de Provence, a place that has preserved its medieval charm. Stroll through its narrow streets, browse quaint shops, and admire the impressive castle ruins. Take in breathtaking views of the stunning surrounding landscape. You may also choose to attend the immersive show at Les Carrières de Lumières (ticket not included).
Continue your Provence journey with a visit to Arles, where you’ll walk in the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh. Follow your guide through the city and discover the locations where he painted some of his most famous works from 1888–1889.
Arles is world-renowned for its architectural heritage, featuring the Roman amphitheatre and theatre, as well as the stunning Romanesque Saint Trophime church (entrance fees not included).
On Saturdays, Arles hosts its lively market, giving you free time to wander among its colorful stalls!
You will return to Aix-en-Provence or Luberon area at 5:30 pm, enriched with lasting impressions of Saint Rémy de Provence, Les Baux de Provence, and Arles, along with the sites that inspired the great Van Gogh.
There will be free time for lunch (not included) on your own during the tour.
Usual itinerary:
- Saint Rémy de Provence (2 hours) – Stroll its charming streets, visit a lively market, and see Van Gogh’s hospital and Roman monuments. Enjoy the provencal market on wednesday.
- Les Baux de Provence (2 hours) – Explore the medieval village, wander narrow streets, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Alpilles.
- Arles (2 hours) – Follow Van Gogh’s footsteps, admire Roman monuments, and discover the city’s rich architectural heritage. Enjoy the open air market on saturday
