Aboard the 38 ft power cat Blu Bi U, this short-haul fishing charter is ideal for guests with limited time. It’s also a great option for mixed groups of anglers and non-anglers. The route stays just a few miles off the coast of St. Maarten, targeting productive reefs and wrecks. The charter may also venture offshore for deep dropping in 800–1,000 feet of water in search of snapper and grouper. When conditions allow, trolling lines are set for surface predators such as mahi-mahi, tuna, and occasionally wahoo.

The Boat

The Blu Bi U is a 38-foot motor catamaran powered by twin Mercury 150hp outboards, accommodating 1 to 8 anglers in comfort and style. Onboard amenities include a head and a small galley. With a range of over 200 miles, this twin-hull vessel offers excellent stability and a smooth ride, even in challenging conditions. A wide beam of approximately 14 feet, side-mounted outriggers, and multiple strategically placed rod holders allow for running maximum lines to increase fishing opportunities.

At the helm, Blu Bi U is equipped with modern electronics to ensure comfort and safety, including a Simrad GPS and fishfinder paired with a Maretron GPS antenna and an Airmar 1KW transducer, allowing visibility of bottom features down to depths of 3,000 feet. A state-of-the-art music and entertainment system is also onboard to keep the atmosphere lively between fishing action, with the option to play personal playlists.

Your Charter

Departures take place from the marina in Cole Bay, exiting the lagoon via the Simpson Bay Bridge. Within approximately 20 minutes, lines are in the water and fishing begins. Depending on the season, the day may start with trolling for about an hour or by heading directly to one of several local reef sites. Locations are adjusted throughout the day to target the most productive spots based on conditions and water quality.

Fishing time can be extended throughout the day based on preference. Alternatively, after fishing, lines can be brought in and the itinerary can shift inshore to a favorite beach spot for relaxation, snorkeling, and swimming. The return to port is scheduled to pass under the inbound bridge, arriving back at the marina by 2:00 pm.

Please note that even though we can take 8 guests the maximum number of lines we can legally have in the water at any one time is 4.
