Welcome to Driftwood Island Retreat, a sanctuary that epitomizes natural splendor, privacy, and thoughtful development. Nestled amidst landscaped gardens adorned with native flora and shrubs, the main cottage features expansive decking, a propane BBQ, and a green egg smoker. A gentle granite path leads down to a spacious dock area, where a screened cabana, waterside sauna, and a new cedar-sided hot tub (installed in 2023) await, all basking in afternoon sun and breathtaking sunsets year-round.
Connecting Driftwood Island Retreat's cottage to various buildings and scenic viewpoints is a wide, natural walking path, shaded by ancient trees and offering glimpses of island-dotted vistas. This path winds along the one-mile shoreline and through the heart of the island, much of it accessible by golf cart and lit at night for easy access to boathouses, beaches, and other amenities.
At the heart of Driftwood Island Retreat sits a full-sized tennis court complete with basketball nets and a 600-square-foot tennis pavilion atop a granite patio with outdoor seating. Following the path from the tennis court leads to a charming one-story boathouse tucked behind a picturesque point with seating and sunset views. The boathouse, boasting two slips, features an outdoor lounge area facing south.
A short stroll uphill from the boathouse brings you to the west and southwest-facing bunkie, offering two bedrooms, a green roof, an outdoor shower, and a spacious outdoor gathering area with sunset views, a large fireplace, and a propane BBQ.
Continuing along the path from the tennis court, you'll discover the movie or reading cabin adjacent to a two-story boathouse with three outdoor balconies, seating areas, and a propane BBQ. Beyond the boathouse, a scenic wooden boardwalk encircles another private bay, extending over breathtaking marshland and culminating in a seating area overlooking a natural sand beach.
Further on lies a sprawling peninsula with a raised granite point that offers expansive views southward into the bay and westward over the open lake, perfect for watching stunning sunsets. Returning towards the large boathouse, another bend in the path leads through an ancient forest to the island's wilder upper half, featuring elevated viewpoints and peaceful seating areas.
The path eventually loops back to Driftwood Island Retreat's main cottage, passing a picturesque point of land and a large, smooth rock bay ideal for swimming. The island offers excellent swimming spots with both shallow and deep-water access points, numerous sunny spots throughout the day, and multiple vantage points for enjoying breathtaking sunsets.

While available for advanced requests, the concierge team connects with guests 30 days prior to arrival to coordinate arrivals and to reserve desired services and experiences. Guests with scheduled Christmas/New Year stays will be contacted 90 days prior to arrival.
For example, a 5 bedroom villa that offers a 3 bedroom rate will be the exclusive use of the guest but two bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms will be locked off. Capacity is capped at 2 guests per bedroom.
